Edna Rose (Hagan) Knabe

Mass of Christian Burial for Edna Rose (Hagan) Knabe, age 85, of Muenster will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Rosary and Vigil will be held at 6:00 PM on Monday, April 6, 2026 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Edna Rose Hagan Knabe passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on March 30, 2026. Edna was born at the family home in Clyde, Texas, on November 25, 1940, to Lois and Rose Hagan. She was the middle child of seven. Edna attended elementary and high school in Clyde. She was a member of the local Catholic Church. She grew up working in the farm fields alongside her family. After graduating from Clyde High School in 1959, Edna’s strong faith led her to The Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration in Clyde, Missouri, where she remained until 1960 when she felt called by God to follow another path and return to Texas. Edna met Herbert Knabe around November 1962. On July 27, 1963, Herbert and Edna were married at Saint Patrick Cathedral in Fort Worth, Texas. Together they were blessed with six children: Herbert Jr., Tim, Stan, Dawn, Alicia and Alison. Edna fully supported her husband Herbert and together they built the family business of Knabe Tire and Radiator from the ground up. They were a team in all manners. Edna was very active with The Home School Society at Sacred Heart Catholic School. Edna was involved with her children at Sacred Heart Catholic School. She was an active room mother. She often drove on the school fieldtrips, because she had one of the biggest cars: A station wagon. It could hold a lot of kids. Edna was also a member of The Catholic Daughters of America. Edna loved learning and constantly sought knowledge by accumulating and reading a vast library of books and attending college classes to enhance her business management skills among other things. But her faith was the guiding force in her life. She rejoiced in God in the good times and trusted He would get her through bad times. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She shared her love for the Catholic faith by being actively involved with RCIA, CCD, Sacred Heart Choir, ACTS team and was an enthusiastic member of the Parish Prayer Chain. Edna explored her faith by attending the sacraments at other Catholic churches in the surrounding counties. Edna was preceded in death by her parents Lois and Rose Hagan; sister and brother-in-law Theresa and Paul Corcoran; sister Cecilia Bayer; brothers and sisters in law, James (J.B.) and Joan Hagan, Edward and Adele Hagan; brother Jack Hagan; brothers-in-law, Patrick Knabe and Henry Knabe; daughter Alicia Diane; great-grandson Gabriel Aguirre; and mother-in-law and father-in-law Juanita and Norbert Knabe. She is survived by her husband Herbert Knabe Sr.; sons and daughters-in-law, Bert and Melanie Knabe, Tim and Norma Knabe; son, Stan Knabe; daughter, Dawn Knabe; daughter and son-in-law Alison and John Golden; twelve grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and sister, Lula Warren. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Home Hospice, ABBA, Muenster Volunteer Fire Department or Sacred Heart Catholic School.
